Therapeutic massage utilizes a combination of Swedish massage, deep tissue, myo-facial release and neuro-muscular techniques. The initial focus is on warming and relaxing the tissues and acclimating the client to a state of healing. Then the focus changes to realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue and breaking down adhesions, in effort to restore normal movement and relieve pain. This work is a combination of long flowing strokes and slower, deeper strokes that concentrate on specific areas of tension and pain. Near the end of the session, the body is gently reintegrated with life on earth, using a long, firm stroke, over the drape, beginning at the head and ending on the feet. Sessions can be scheduled for a period of one to three hours.
